Memories Picture yourself At a desk in a classroom Racking your brain To receive a good mark Think of the night When you danced with your loved one Amongst your friends Yet alone in the dark Recall the games That were filled with high spirits Your anxious face Never hid all that pride Look back in time To the raffles and bakesales The work was hard But results showed you tried Remember clubs And your special achievements The faculty too That made you who you are Reflect on thoughts Of great joys and deep sorrows Let memories soar To bring you near and far These years have passed Now your voice is an echo Friends have all gone The departure was sad Hold the world now Take the good that it offers Give in return The same chance that you had Tracey Nee Class of 1983 1983 Memories CLINTON HIGH SCHOOL Clinton, Massachusetts Kara Dickhaut, Secretary Angela latrou. McNamara i 3 Dedication ITR XNCE Mrs. Anne Galeski and Mr. Edward Davidson have not only been our class advisors, but they have also been our friends. They have contributed much of their time and efforts to organizing our numerous activities from our inexperienced Freshman year to our concluding Senior year. We can ' t express enough gratitude to them for coordinating our fund raisers, dances and other memorable class functions. Without Mrs. Galeski ' s and Mr. Davidson ' s guidance, we would never have made it through our days at Clinton High so successfully. We will always remember them, and we will always be grateful to them for making our High School years so much fun. 5 u “THE BEST OF TIMES” On November 7, 1981 we held our long awaited Homecoming Dance. After attaining the title of the most spirited class earlier in the week and coming out of our annual Homecoming Day game with a victory we looked forward to this event enthusiastically. The night slipped by us quickly as we danced to the music of Glass Leaf and the time to choose The bell of the ball crept upon us. Dawn Hilbert was chosen as queen and the members of her court included Cathleen Mahan, Pamela Towne, Donna McDonald, Paula Kittredge, Jerilyn Rauscher, and Carole Gelinas. The night ended on a happy note and we concluded that it really was The Best of Times. 7 “We’ve Only Just Begun” Our freshman year was a time of building dreams and setting our fu- ture goals. We arrived in the early fall of 1979, strange to our new sur- roundings but enthused about our four years ahead. As weeks passed we became comfortable as members of the stu- dent body and had cast our first bal- lots to choose our student leaders. We elected Nancy Pasquale — president, Jill Bailey — vice- president, Kathleen Hazel — secre- tary, and Brian Bergeron — trea sur- er. At this time we were also in- formed that Mr. Davidson and Miss Tassone, also new to this school, had been appointed as our class advisors. In November, our class, along with our advisors were introduced to a very special event — Spirit Week! We were quite inexperienced and subsequently failed. Our spirits were not lost however, we did our best for the newcomers that we were, and vowed to improve our standings in our second attempt. The conclusion of our first year came quickly and we left for a short summer, anxiously awaiting our future at C.H.S. “Movin’ On Up” We started the year off at full speed with our newly elected Officers: Presi- dent — Angela latrou, Vice-President — Jill Bailey, Secretary — Kathleen Hazel, and Treasurer — Nancy Mitchell. Although we were sad about our freshman advisor, Miss Tassone, leaving the school we were relieved at the ap- pointment of another very dependable leader. Miss Stark. We quickly became comfortable with one another, welcom- ing Miss Stark with our friendship. With her help, along with Mr. Davidson ' s we were able to sponsor various fundraisers such as bake sales, selling carnations (at the Thanksgiving Day game) and a very successful flea market. Our class play Why Teachers Go Nuts was a smash, thanks to a laboring cast and our helpful advisors. We were very proud of them and especially Charlie Murphy, who walked away with the award for best-supporting actor re- sulting from his outstanding perfor- mance. With these activities, along with Spirit Week we became very busy as a class that year and learned a lot about the meaning of team work. On the night of May 14, 1982 we found ourselves amidst our first formal at Alfonse ' s Powder Mill in Maynard. The event was accented by the echoing sounds of Jericho , and the time ticked slowly by. Before the nights end howev- er, the queen and her court were chosen. Queen of this special event was Jerilyn Rauscher, and the members of her court included Tracey Nee, Sally Pupecki, Jennifer Hallinan, Juliana Naughton, Wendy Vosburg, and Cindy Purchase. I “One Step Closer” £ K Hjh if I II , P l 1 conning football game and dance we were over-flowing with excitement and energy helping us to gain the title of the most spirited class. At last, after two years of unsuccessful attempts we proved that the class of ' 83 really was number one! In May the prom arrived and after that short memorable event the year quickly In our junior year we returned livlier than ever and we looked to the ex- citing year that was facing us with the determination to make it one of our best. As usual in mid-September we voted for student officers, electing Angela latrou, once again, as presi- dent, Daniel Devaney, Vice- President, Kathleen Hazel, Secre- tary, and Nancy Mitchell as Treasur- er. It wasn ' t long before we were in the full swing of things, selling ban- ners at the football games, sponsor- ing bake sales and raffles, and making plans for the Homecoming Dance. Finally, in November, the week we had been waiting for arrived. It was our year to sponsor Spirit week and with that, along with the Home- came to a close. The last month of school rushed by, leaving us only with recollections of the fun and laughter we had and the unfor- tunate realization that there was only one year remaining to share together as a class. “Looks Like We Made It” On September 1, 1982 as we entered our Senior year we realized that the end of our school life was not far away. We looked forward, with much anticipation, to our future events such as Spirit Week, the Senior Hop, Interclass Dramatics, and Senior Week. Spirit week was early in the year and although we were depressed at it being our last we promised to end our four years with success. We worked together as a class with determination and achieved our goal. The time ticked away and before we realized, March 18 the date of the Hop, had arrived, leaving only two months to spend together. During those last days we spent much of our time recalling our past and the special friends we had found in our classmates, teachers, and advisors. The finale of our four years together came on June 2, the night of our class banquet and two short days afterward was Graduation Day. We accepted our diplomas with pride and fond mem- ories of C.H.S. but the sadness at leaving the school was inevitable. Now we are off to lives and futures of our own and although some of us will never meet again we will always share the cherished moments of our past and the spirit of the Class of ' 83 will live in our hearts forever! On March 18, 1983, as our Senior year marched by, we joined together for yet another memorable occasion. Our last formal function, the Senior Hop, was held at the Leominster K of C and signaled for us, our few days left together as a class. Dancing to the pulsating rhythm of the B. Street Bombers we became rapped up in the moment and the night sped by. However, before ending the evening, seven girls became part of a very special memory. Sally Pupecki was crowned queen, and Paula Kittredge, Jo-Ann Halloran, Kelly Martin, Michelle Gorski, Jerilyn Rauscher and Tracey Nee became members of the court. For it never fades or dies away But grows more precious day by day If you are among the chosen few Thank God for the love that he sent to you And if God calls your love away You can still feel them close at the end of each day And when you are lonely or feeling blue Love fills your heart with memories To let the sun shine through. Talent in both strength and speed was present even though much of their power was lost to graduation the year before. Nevertheless, the boys ' spirits were not dampered. Joe Bazydlo, Brian Bergeron, Russell Boswer, Mike Ciciotte, Paul Ciciotte, Mike Fredrich, Kwang Kim, Dan McNamara, Dave Petricca and Dave Vanasse set fine examples for the teams to follow in the upcoming years, The boys ' respect for coach Archie Cataldi and assistant coach John Lavelle was evident not just during football season but also throughout the rest of the year. Under the direction of David Baer, the group practiced deligently to perfect their music for their pleasant performances in the town parades. Lisa Correa was elected President of the band while Robyn LeComte was chosen Secretary. With their leadership and that of Jeanette Deforge and Lynette Bohannon the Gael musicians furnished us with enter- tainment at football rallies. They also shared their gift with the students at the elementary school, and for these we will be forever grateful to them. Lynette Bohannon Lisa Correa Jeanette DeForge Robyn LeComte 61 This year ' s field hockey squad proved to have one of their finest seasons finishing with a 4-8-2 record. The team was led by co- captains Jerilyn Rauscher and Eliza- beth Jakubowicz. The efforts of Kathleen Hazel. Angela latrou, Jill Bailey, Donna McDonald, and Sarah Devaney were great assets leading the team to many great performances on the field. We would like to extend a special thanks to our coach, Mrs. Pamela Reni, who has been with us for four years. Without her patience and understanding we would never have had such a successful season. Kathleen Hazel - 62 Jerilyn Rauscher, Co-captain Elizabeth Jakubowicz Co-Captain Lisa Correa Kara Dickhaut Over One Million Served This year ' s varsity volleyball team retained a better than average season as they almost hit the .500 mark against tough Midland League opponents. Our Seniors Kara Dickhaut, Joyce Farragher and Lisa Correa were the steadying forces throughout each game. Joyce was the squad ' s captain and leader who rallied her teammates through the close contests. Kara and Lisa showed outstanding talent on the courts, especially when they were needed. Due to an ankle injury, Karen Oberg was unable to participate in the games, but her past performances proved that she would have contributed a lot of skill to the team ' s efforts. We would like to extend our appreciation to coach Sandy Boroweic for all the time and dedication she devoted to the team. 64 Joyce Farragher, Captain Karen Oberg 65 They Took Their Best Shot John Currier Patrick Gaughan 66 On the Rebound The 1982-83 girls basketball season proved to be a rebuilding one tor the Gael hoopsters as they chalked up their only victory against the Hudson Hawks. Despite their disappointing record, the Gaels still managed to give 100% of their efforts to the team. With the inspira- tion and guidance of Sandy Boroweic, who returned to her coaching position after a one year leave of absence, the girls not only sharpened their skills, but they learned the meanings of good sportsmanship and determination while in the process. Our three seniors, Reenie McNally, Ann Clisham and Lisa Correa, will truly be missed as they were definitely the bright spots of the season. The perfor- mances of Ann and Reenie centered on their exceptional rebounding and scor- ing abilities while Lisa was the team ' s defensive star. We would like to wish the future squads much success in the years to come. Co-captains and Coach. Lisa Correa Maureen McNally Ann Clisham Hitting It Off Together The 1983 softball season proved to be one of effort and rebuilding. The senior girls, all veterans, combined their strengths with that of fellow teammates to put forth a winning spirit at each game. The pitching expertise of Katie Hazel along with outstanding fielding, hitting, and running by Reenie McNally, Karen Oberg, and Joyce Farragher helped to ease the difficulty of a tough year. Reverend Glen Kunst, Pastor of the Church of the Upper Room and former Clinton High Graduate, gave the invocation, address, and benedic- tion. In our minds, we realized that this would be one of the last times we would sit together as an entire class before Graduation Day. 85 86 87 88 “Come Dancin’ ” Thursday night, June 2, 1983, the evening we ' ve all been waiting for finally arrived as we danced up a storm at our class banquet held at the White Cliffs in Northboro. Mu- sic by Glass Leaf along with a great meal and great company combined to make an enjoyable and memorable eve ning. A presentation was made by the class officers to Miss Paula Stark for her many efforts to the class as an advisor during our freshman, sophomore, and junior years. 89 Famous Final Scene June 4, 1983 proved to be “The Famous Final Scene” for the 168 students who received their high school diplo- mas at the Clinton Town Flail. The afternoon began with presentations to our dedicated class advisors Mrs. Anne Galeski and Mr. Edward Davidson for all the time and effort they have contributed during the past years to help our class in all of our activities. The proud relatives and friends of these graduates listened with interest to our commencement speakers Maureen McNally, Nancy Mitchell, Angela latrou, Sally Pupecki and Daniel McNamara. They reminded us of our very special four years we shared as a class, and that we will always have these wonderful memories to look back upon. Now we must look toward the future and all the opportunities it holds for us. A feeling of joy warmed our hearts as fellow classmate Harold Vanasse received his ROTC Scholarship from Lt. Col. Koon of the U.S. Air Force. When the day ended, we left the Town Hall with a sense of pride and accomplishment which will bring us to future successes in the coming years. 90 Is 91 CLASS OF 1983 COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES CLINTON HIGH SCHOOL Saturday, June the fourth nineteen hundred and eighty-three at 2:00 P.M. Davidson Mrs. Anne E. Galeski THROUGH THE YEARS It seems that time has passed before our eyes. Four years have ' gone by, and now we ' re on our own. Our time will be remembered here by all. Each little thing that happened well recall; And as we go our own ways now, well remember what we had. Through the years Through all the good and bad, we ' ve loved the years we ' ve had But now the time has come to say goodbye. Through the years We ' ve waited for this day, but we are sad to say That now we ' re on our way, but we ' ll remember this day Through the years. Our mem ' ries last forever in our hearts. Even though we will have to part, a part of us will stay. As we go on our future slowly turns And just as much as we know we can learn Still well think of things learned here as we go. Through the years. Through the years Through all the good and bad, we ' ve loved the years we ' ve had But now the time has come to say good-bye.
