JUNIOR PROM MAY 9,1980 The evening of our Junior Prom, May 9,1980, was one that will be remembered by all. The set- ting of the Sheraton-Tara provided a most excit- ing atmosphere. It was a night full of starlight and romance for the girls as well as the boys. The Junior Prom is always dreamed of as being special, but ours was made exceptional by the dedication of two very important people in our lives: Mr. Ricci and Mrs. Galeski. Thanks to them, “We’ve Got Tonite” and many beautiful memories of it. We finally realized we were upperclassmen as our officers were handed the Senior Caps and Gowns. These cherished moments will linger in our memories forever. The court consisted of Christy Morrison, Cindi Salwa (Queen), Sharon Kuzmeski, Maria Etche- pare, Lois Bruso, Maureen Egan, and Mary Hazel.

SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY In September 1978 we entered C.H.S. confidently walk- ing the corridors as Sophomores. However, several changes had taken place. Mr. David Hazel was now our Principal and Mr. Leo Bachant was our Vice-Principal. In addition we now addressed Miss Merriman as Mrs. Gales- ki, as she had been married during the summer vacation. When class elections were held at the end of September we selected the following as class officers; President — David Moran, Vice-President — Shawn Moran, Secretary — Jane Santoro, Treasurer — Amy Jewett. As time passed. Spirit Week rolled around again and our class had to defend its title of MOST SPIRITED CLASS. Although the other classes were better prepared for the competition, we proudly chanted “We’re No. I’’ at the Spirit Week rally when Mr. Gerald Foley presented a plaque to our class which captured four first place awards. In addition, in November our class sponsored the annual Thanksgiving Day Show. On this occasion our class members and many other students displayed their singing and dancing talents. We especially remember the lyrics of the “Good Ship Lollipop” sung by a crew of Sophomores. As the New Year began, our class conducted a green stamp drive for a Pioneer stereo to be used as a raffle prize. Again the project succeeded as our class spirit reached new heights. A few weeks later we participated in interclass drama- tics competition selecting “Hilly Billy High Jinks” as our play. In this event the talented and experienced Senior Class prevailed as we learned that it would take a greater dramatic effort to win Interclass Dramatics competition. During the winter months our boys varsity basketball team had a successful season which was highlighted by participating in the Clark Tournament and reaching the finals of the District 3 Basketball Tournament. Our dream of the District 3 Title ended in the finals as the Ayer High School Panthers outscored our Gaels. As our Sophomore year came to a close, we eagerly looked forward to our Junior year and its traditional activi- ties — the Homecoming and the Prom. Before the school year ended in June, we selected the Sheraton-Tara in Framingham as the site of our Junior Prom.
