JUNIOR HOMECOMING ■ WE MAY NEVER PASS THIS WAY AGAIN” NOVEMBER 3,1979 The highlight of the fall of our Junior year was our Homecoming Dance. The week was vefy busy, as we engaged in a variety of Spirit Week Activities. This paved the way for our Homecoming football game against Marlboro High. Our fighting Gael football team was defeated by a score of 20 to 7, despite its “never say die” attitude throughout the game. Our spirited crew worked energetically to transform the cafeteria into a stunning Fall scene depicting our theme “We May Never Pass This Way Again.” The night passed quickly as we danced to the music of Glass Leaf. As the final minutes of the dance came to a close, the traditional Grand March was conducted. Shortly thereafter, the judges announced the Homecoming Queen and her court. Mary Murphy was chosen Queen. Her court con- sisted of Diane DeJesus, Patricia DiMeco, Yvonne Handel, Shari Lewin- ski, Mary Ruberti and Paula Vera.

FRESHMEN CLASS HISTORY On September 7,1977 the class of 1981 entered Clinton High School. Shortly, thereafter Principal John Gibbons appointed Mr. Ralph Ricci and Miss Anne Merriman as our advisors. At the end of September we elected the following as officers: President — Edward Peete, Vice- President — Shawn Moran, Secretary — Jane Santoro, and Treasurer — Amy Jewett. During the month of November, a new event was intro- duced called Spirit Week, in which the entire student body competed in a variety of events to determine which class was the MOST SPIRITED. Being quiet and reserved, the upperclasses completely overlooked the class of ’81 and its spirit. At the first Sprirt Week Rally the upperclasses sat in a state of shock as it was announced the Freshmen Class — Class of 198 1 was judged THE MOST SPIRITED. Another highlight of first semester at C.H.S. was cheer- ing our varsity football team to a Midland League Title, an undefeated season, and a birth in the Superbowl at Spring- field College. Our gallant Gaels were outscored by Min- nechaug 41 to 27, but displayed their typical spirited atti- tude through the contest. Under the direction of our advisors, our class began fund-raising projects that included bumperstickers, Christmas corsages, and a bake sale. Our success in these endeavors and the honor of being the MOST SPIRITED helped to build our confidence and class spirit that was to carry us for the remaining three years. At the end of our Freshman year, our Principal, Mr. John Gibbons announced his retirement and the students of C.H.S. held a special assembly to honor him for his many years of dedicated service to the town of Clinton. The Class of 1981 sincerely appreciated his efforts to ensure that we made a smooth transition into the rigors of high school life. ROLL ON GAELS
