(9, (PZ9 ■ ’ ( u m On May 18, 1979, we found ourselves amidst the festivities at the Bull Run. The advent of our Junior Prom approached quickly. For the girls, as well as their escorts, it was their long awaited dream come true, a fairy tale we ' ve once read, and surely an occassion we will always remember. As the clock struck twelve, the night slowly faded away to melancholy memories. The gala events continued the following day as we traveled to Hampton Beach. Though the weather was dismal it didn ' t put a damper on our dreams. The night will forever be remembered by our Queen and her court, which consisted of Marci Tor, Joanne Quinn, Mary Notaro, Corinne Gorman, (Queen), Kathleen Coyne, Carey O ' Donnell, and Karen Ryll.

SOPHOMORE YEAR We returned in September with a new outlook, knowing that our Sophomore Year would be a trying time for us, but with a little more experience on our side, we would make it. We started right in by electing Patrick Ball for our President: James Valley, Vice-President; Joanne Despotopulos, Secretary; and Thomas Hazel, as Treasurer. Our Student Council consisted of Mary Jo Garofoli, Brian Gavin, and Pamela Queeney. With their combined efforts, we were able to organize a Shopping Spree at the Victory Market proving that we could work together as a class. In December of our Sophomore Year, we entered Inter-Class Dramatics Competition for the first time. Although we didn ' t win any awards, our play, Bolts and Nuts , proved to everyone that our class was not only well organized but manifested an exceptional degree of spirit. On December 3, 1977, with an undefeated record, the Gaels Foot- ball Team traveled to Springfield, MA for the Central-Western Mas- sachusetts Super Bowl. Our team had the support of every football enthusiast in the town. It was a great thrill to go this far, but unfortu- nately, Minnechaug Regional beat the Gaels by a score of 41-27. Before leaving school for the summer vacation we received our class rings which would forever be a symbol of our ties to C.H.S. We were now at the mid-point of our high school days. If the next two years held as much fun and excitement as the previous ones, we knew that we would have much to look forward to.
