GIRLS TRACK Carol Bo ers does a perfect hlgh Jump F URTH IN STATE MEET The Lady Eagles iuushed fourth rn the 1986 Louxsx ana State AA Track and Fxeld Meet wmnmg the 400 and 800 meter relays They fmlshed second an the 206 meter dash and fourth m the 100 meter dash and 1600 meter relay Runnxng on the two champxonshxp relays were sophomore Mary Brown gumors Leshe Cheatham and Rome Cheatham and semor Marvetta Moore Rome ran :an the 100 and 200 meter dashes Sophomore Tasha Cherry along wxth Brown L Cheatham and Moore ran on the 1 Q Q meter relay Overall the Lady Eagles performed well despxte some naggmg mjunes to key members They won two meets Lutcheer s Invxtahonal and the Clmton Relays They fxmshed 2nd 111 the Strawberry Relays and at the drsmcr Meet Roxre Cheatham who competed m the 100 and 200 meter dashes and anchored the 400 and 800 meter relaye was the top point lady for the Eagles She was followed by Marvetta Moore who ran the hurdles and the 400 Q H and 1600 meter relays Semor, Ins Brown set a school record by throwmg the discus 103 4 Freshman Carol Bowers set another m hxgh Jumping Sl-me cleared 4 11 All of the Lady Eagles wrll be returnmg next year except Moore Brown and Dunn for another wmnmg season hopefully Coleese Newman completes a successful long jump Ins Brown makes her move
