Veteran? Led . . . Paced by veterans Roger Burgess and Bill Dwor- schack, the 1967 version of fall track rolled through a season of extra-special individual efforts and some success in team dual meets. Before being sidelined by an accident, Burgess was especially successful in dealing with top milers from other squads. In triangular meets, the Kings finished last once, but were the middle team in each of the other efforts. They split their dual meets with three losses and a pair of close wins. ln the state mile race, the Kings were Sth in Class AAAAA competition. They added a fourth in the conference mile event and then turned their at- tention to cross country running. They were ninth in the conference in that event and did not enter state competition after Burgess' injury. Burgess' time of 4:41 in the mile was the Year's top effort. Merle Rosenthal and Bill Hansen were strong JV runners and Chuck Curtis paced the sophomores.
