Hand in hand, one by one, couples entered the Homecoming dance, Knights of Oldef, It could be seen that this was another senior achievement well done. The room was filled with joy and excitement over the Kings' victory. There was also an air of humbleness and pride for those whose thoughts Dick Byard goes after an escaping Little Hawk. pondered on the true meaning of Homecoming. Homecoming is a happy heart, a renewal of ac- quaintances, a time to remember. Homecoming is for everyone. Hand in hand, one by one, couples departed their alma mater, satisfied that this was, indeed, a very good year for Homecoming. Mr. Huth became a cheerleader With the parade past, and the clean-up completed, all thoughts turned to the game. Iowa City was invading and it looked like a tough test for the Kings. Could they win? Could they make this a perfect conclusion to a perfect day? Win they did, as a rugged defense throt- tled Iowa City scoring bids and an offense capitalized on the breaks. Pandemonium reigned when the final gun showed a scoreboard lighted in the King's favor, 19-7. As the West Side Depot belted out the music, the CHS student body and grads enjoyed 'fYe Kings ofO1de.
