At the beginning of each school year tryouts are held and cheerleaders are chosen. They Cheer at all football and basketball games, leading the Cards on to victory. Pictured at the right are Marlene Hickman, Caryl Cowan, Dixie Chapman, Peggy Boppenmyer, Kathleen Trainer, Aletrice Briggs, and Iacquetta Teasley. Jacquetta Teasley became .Tacquetta Smith and moved to Springfield to finish school. The runner up in the tryouts at the first of school, Ann Price, was chosen to fill the vacancy.
