Text from Pages 1 - 90 of the 1983 volume:

The Students of Clinton Community College wish to dedicate the 1983 PRAECURSOR to the college Staff. The Staff is composed of the typists, secre- taries, receptionists, cafeteria personnel, computer operators, library and audio-visual assistants, and the other various persons, who behind the scenes, pull us all together. It is through their dilligence and their helpful attitudes that we, as students, can flow through our semesters at C.C.C. without annoyances. Their efforts almost always go unno- ticed and it is our wish, through this dedication, that we express our deepest respect and gratitude to you ... the Staff of Clinton Community College. Thanks to each and everyone of you! The Students 2 STAFF 4 ILIAR CES In the race to be better or best, miss not the joy of being. Edward A. At the end of the storm, is a golden sky and the sweet silver song of a lark. Walk on through the wind, walk on through the rain Though your dreams be tossed and blown. Walk on—walk on with hope in your heart and you’ll never walk alone, You’ll never walk alone. REMEMBER WHEN... REMEMBER WHEN. . . REMEMBER WHEN mi imuli -S3 '-111111111111111111111 “Our Bite Into The Big Apple” by Susie Fauaro ’82 All ten of us went down to explore the “Big Apple”, Some nervous, some excited, some calm, some delighted, But above all, we hit the core, it was there to explore. Our hotel was our home for three long days, But there we did not stay, New York City was our maze. We went to the opera, yes to the Met, This was a scene that no one could set. We also saw “Evita”, yes she was playing, But let me tell you, that she was well worth the paying. The museums were great, no matter what date, The paintings were real, that's how we all feel. The World Trade Center, it was such a sight, until someone got lost, oh what a fright! Bagels and hotdogs, yes we did eat, The various foods were such a treat. When we looked in the sky, we thought we would die, We couldn’t see the stars, the buildings were too high! The people, the taxis, the subway moved fast, We experienced all three, oh what a blast! We walked and walked, but not every street, For if we hit them all, we would have no feet. The last day rolled by as fast as it came, We were sad to leave, for none of us reached fame. On the bus we all cramped, required and tired, Seven long hours to sleep and unwind. Friends we did make, yes ten fine souls, as we traveled down the road and paid our tolls. Once we got back it was made real clear, That the North Country doesn’t change, for we could walk with no fear. When we reached CCC, we didn’t feel too weary, How could we, with Mrs. Hey man and Betty O’Leary! So now the trip is over, but the experience will stay, Our bite into the “Big Apple” was well worth the pay. Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest people with the smallest minds. Think big anyway. People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs. Fight for some underdogs anyway. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway. Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.
