Kim spikes the ball as Gina and Amy back her up. SENIORS POST SUPERIOR NUMBERS ... The graduating seniors really have a record to be proud of. In the four years that they have been involved in High School Volleyball, their total combined record has been 94-12. In 1984, the Lady Bulldog’s record was 21-3. Their only losses have came to the eventual state champions, Clinton Prairie. Although the Lady Bulldogs lost the sectional, their season was still great. Winning the McCutcheon Tourney was only one of the many accomplishments. In 1985, the Bulldogs record was 25-3. The Bulldogs lost to Prairie in regular season. Michigan City Rogers in the Twin Lake Tourney, and to Tipton in the sectional. The highlights of the year include winning the McCutcheon Tourney, and best of all the Lady Bulldogs were rated sixth in the state to top off the year. In 1986, the Bulldogs were 24-3. The Bulldogs lost to McCutcheon in the McCutcheon Tourney, Prairie in regular season and in the sectional. One of the many accomplishes was winning the Twin Lakes Tourney. Another accomplishment was being rated eighteenth in the state at the beginning of the season, and ending up being rated fifth in the state at the end of the year. In 1987, the Lady Bulldogs were 24-3. In regular season play the Bulldogs lost to Prairie in yet another close match. The Bulldogs also lost to Kankakee Valley in the Twin Lakes Tourney in an upsetting three game match. The highlights to the season were winning the Harrison Tourney, beating the fifth rated team in the state, McCutcheon. The Lady Bulldogs ended the season and their high school volleyball career losing the sectional to Prairie once again in an exciting three game match. The team was rated sixth in the state most of the year, and would like to thank everyone for all of their support. These four seniors would like to thank their parents the C.C. coaching staff, and the administration for all their cooperation, support and understanding throughout their high school careers. Jason Payton, 14.4 points and 8.7 re- bounds, Kenny Mangis, 10.7 and seven boards, along with Chad Perkins and Ja- son Stroup provided plenty of inside strength. The 1987-88 club had a membership of approximately 80 students. Students must be taking a foreign language or have taken at least one year of a foreign language to be a member. Of the four officers, two must be French students and two must be Spanish students. Current officers are Mark Williams, President, Lisa McCoy, Vice- President, Stacia Payton, Secretary Treasurer, and Ryan Smith Organization- al chairman; Mrs. Pastorius is the sponsor. Activities during regular club meetings include presentations from ex- change students, who discuss life in their various countries, slides or movies presented by students or adults who have traveled to foreign countries, and tasting parties. fa- 68 Spring Break 88 was an exciting but exhausting one for eight C.C. students who were lucky enough to spend a week in France. Those taking the trip included Johna Hawkins. Jennifer Milner. Marta Ward. Becky Archibald. David Fcarnow. Blake Blanch, Larry Moore, and Glen Moore, and their two shaperoncs, Janet Pastorius and Norma Milner. They spent three days touring the City of Lights, Paris. Highlights of the town there were visits to the Arch of Triumph, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Champs Elysees, and a boat ride at night on the Seine river. Paris was left behind as students visited the Palace of Versailles, Charters Cathedral, three castles in the Loire valley, a wine cellar at Vouoray, Mount St. Michel, a monastery on the atlantic coast, and the beaches at Normandy where American troops landed in 1944. Although learning to communicate in another language, seeing the customs of another country, and trying out unfamiliar food was an experience that will last a lifetime, the students were more apprecia- tive of life in the U.S.A. and were happy to return home. “How you gonna keep 'em “down on the farm “after they've seen Paree. 69 ACADEMIC TEAMS EXCEL IN COMPETITION Wins Rangeline Conference Title First Row, L to R; Blake Blanch, Mindcc Maple, Erin Beaver, Donna Anderson, Chris Wellman.
