Starting the sea- son with six straight victories, the Bulldogs were well on their way. A loss in the final game of the CC Holiday Tourney broke their streak, but not their spirit as Central's own went on to compile a hard-earned 15-5 record. Unfortunately, the Dogs lost in the first round of Sec- tionals. CC bids farewell to six seniors, including John Shoup, who will be attending Butler next year on a full ride scholarship. John averaged 26.7 ppg, Steve Hodson added 13.3, and Brent McKinney averaged 8.7 on the season. Seniors Mark Sanders and Mark Hawn added fabulous defense and leadership to help the Bulldogs attain their record. Kramer, above, taught 31 years at Rossville and Central. He graduated from Forest High School and holds degrees from Purdue, Indiana, and Michigan Universities. Rule, right, graduated from Michigantown High School and Purdue University, then returned to coach Michigan- town for 15 years before serving as athletic director at Central for 28 years. Both cited the achievements of students as the most satisfactory elements of their careers. Shoup, Cole Finish Athletic Careers at Central John Shoup, shown above with parents Marilyn and Denny, will be playing for another Bulldog team next year, this time with Butler University. A prolific scorer, John set a career scoring record with 1469 points and had 561 in his senior year. Shoup averaged 24.6 and was in the states top 10. He was all conference three years. Denna Cole graduates with fine credentials also. Instrumental in the success of the Bulldogs for the past three years, she was all conference two years and all county two years. She was the leading scorer and assist leader in her final season. 79 WINTER SPORTS RECORDS VARSITY WRESTLING C.C. OPP. We grasp on to each other, and hold on very tight remembering the time we met . . . that special summer night. You know you're very special,” we said to each other again. We told each other that we know, and grinned our lovely grin. I'll always love you, we said, and tears fell from our eyes. I think we always had, so we tried to realize that if we had left each other, we might not have known. Yet, if we stayed, we may never have grown. a 136
