This year's wrestling team was one of the most successful CC has ever had. While posting a 7-7 record, they sent 5 wrestlers to the regionals: Run- nerups Rusty Peters, 119; Mark Davison, 126; Max Richey, 155; Andy Cline, heavyweight; and sectional champion Don Beech, 185. Don Beech also won the regional and went on to the semi-state where he lost by one point in the last .05 seconds of the match. The wrestlers also had their first-ever conference champs. Max Richey captured his 155 weight class, and Don Beech dominated the 185 pound class. Coaches Bob Jarrett and Jerry Schonoff have really brought the team along in the past two years. Plans call for an additional gymnasium, com- bination auditorium-art center and a new vocational agricultural facility, a media center added onto the library, rooms under the east 7th Graders Top State bleachers in the present gym with new bleachers on the east side, an elevator at the south end of academic wing and restrooms with outside en- trances on the east end of the building for use at football games and other outdoor activities. Included in the new plan is a 480-plus seat audi- torium with full stage equipment, adjacent to two new art rooms and a remodeled band room. Stor- age areas and practice rooms will be built between auditorium and band room. The proposed vocational agricultural center, to be located at the southeast corner of the building, will greatly increase space devoted to the ag pro- gram. The library will be expanded to the west and an area will be added for special materials. The auxiliary gymnasium, northeast corner, will seat approx. 500 and will be used to take the load of activity off present facilities. Remodeling will be done in shops, restrooms will be equipped to meet requirements for handicapped and a new fire alarm system will be installed. New construction will total 41,378 square feet and almost 15,000 square feet of area will be remodeled. The estimated cost will be $2,344,485.
