We must not allow ourselves to become a nation of people who fol- low or copy one an- other for the sake of “prestige.” This practice is danger- ous and leads to- ward mediocrity. We should expose the genuine quali- ties which make us individually unique and powerful. Mrs. Joyce Rule, School Secretary Richard W. The Trojans scored their first touchdown near the end of the first quarter. The Bulldogs were unable to overcome the Trojans' speed. FRANKFORT 34 — CLINTON CENTRAL 0 The Hot Dogs were a powerful and confident squad but the Bulldogs showed their spirit by holding the Hot Dogs to a draw throughout the first half. During the second half, the Bulldogs began to show signs of fatigue. Some injuries weakened the line and the reserve strength of the Hot Dogs brought them their victory. Coach Armstrong said after the game, “We were overpowered by a fine team.’’ KLONDIKE 0 — CLINTON CENTRAL 20 The Bulldogs were in good form to chalk up their first victory. Williams advanced the ball 150 yards in 19 downs. Robertson tallied two touchdowns thru the line. Abbott in- tercepted a pass and galloped to the Klondike 10 yard line. A fumble killed a chance for scoring. The team was in good form in blocking and in opening up the line. JACKSON CENTRAL 19 — CLINTON CENTRAL 7 The Jackson Central squad joined with C.C. to celebrate the homecoming game before a capacity crowd. Fullback Tom Browning of Jackson Central was the Bulldog's big problem. C.C.’s determination began to make ground in the fourth quarter but time ran out. Williams. Robertson and Thompson gained good yardage. Davison hurled some effective passes. Robertson scored the T.D. with Williams converting for the point. -85- Seniors Bottom, left to right: Zook, Kopplemann, Walls, Hopp. Top: Derrick, Robertson, Loveless, Jackson, Price. Fortunes changed when Kop- pelmann recovered a fumble and C.C. was on the march. Williams and Robertson advanced the ball with enough yardage to enable Robertson to push it over from the one yard line. A pass from Davison to Price clinched the point. LEBANON 47 — CLINTON CENTRAL 0 A fast and powerful Tiger eleven lived up to their season’s record of victories. The Bulldogs refused to allow the size of the Tigers to crush their spirit. During the second half the Bulldogs netted good yardage with runs by Thompson and Abbott. Coach Armstrong complimented the Bulldogs on their determination and spirit in the face of great odds. WESTERN 6 — CLINTON CENTRAL 13 Western held a 6 point lead for three quarters. The Bulldogs began to wear their opponents down in the fourth quarter. Good blocking and improved performance added up to a victory for the Bulldogs. SHERIDAN 7 - CLINTON CENTRAL 0 The last game of the season was a rough and tumble performance. It was yard for yard and play for play all the way. The Bulldogs were on their way at the 10 yard line but a penalty snatched away their chance for scoring. Sheridan saved their touchdown for a victory. -86- HOMECOMING QUEEN Mary Lou Alter, a senior, was elected as the 1961-62 Homecoming Queen.
