Jackson Lee Newcombe, Student Band Director FACULTY AWARDS OF 1959 The faculty gives two awards to students with the highest scholastic averages at the end of their second year of work. One is given a student whose work is transferable to the University ot Virginia, and the second is given to a student whose work is not completely transferable. Albert Bond, Jr., of Norton, received the award in the transfer program and Charlene Russell, of Janesville, received the second award.
