On July 1, 1957, Clinch Valley College was placed under the excellent direc- tion of Joseph L. Vaughan. Under his leadership, Clinch Valley has grown rapidly and steadily. The solidarity given to Clinch Valley by Dr. Vaughan has been a great asset in giving our college the recognition it deserves, not only in our area, but in the state as awhole. Administration Mr. Colgate W. Darden, Jr., President of the University of Virginia. Under his active interest, leadership, and encour- agement, Clinch Valley College has grown and prospered. President Darden's enthusiasm and support has helped make Clinch Valley one of the most refresh- ing experiments in education in the state of Virginia.
