This year p oved to be our busiest with our Senior Class Play, skip day, career day, the editing of our annual, and the sponsoring of many parties and banquets as in previous years Finally the dates of the much discussed and long awaited Baccalaureate and Commencement arrived The days were met with much excitement and relief but we were still a little sorrowful over leaving our fine school which we had been a part of for many years We especially would like to thank our high school teachers Mr and Mrs Vestal, Mrs Brinker, Mrs Simpson, lr Rey nolds and lr. Butcher who have put up with us for 4 long but rewarding years. MEMORY LANE Y5 GWB g Feb 9 at 8 30 m 16 eager girls and 3 chap erons left Climbing Hill for the trip to Des Moines and the state tournament Upon arrival, we toured the Capital Building and the museum Then we scatter ed and went shopping At 5 30 we met at the hotel and proceeded to the games Following the games journeyed back to the hotel where we spent a fun filled and sleepless night The next morning we arose bright and early and prepared for our trip homeward We arriv in C Hill at 3 O0 p m , tired but happy SENIOR SNEAK DAY On Wed., May 8, the Seniors awoke bright and early and set forth on their trip to Omaha. Upon arrival we tour- ed Boy's Town which was very interesting. Next we visited the Union Pacific Museum. Following this we were enter tained at a delicious lunch at Brandeis after which we did some shopping in the store. Next we all journeyed to the Municipal Airport where some of us ventured to take an airplane ride. Also we visited the control tower Then we went to Offut Air- force Base where we were ta- ken on a tour by a WAF. The days sights were climaxed by supper and a movie. Butter, fresh eggs, cheese, cold meat, and hamburger were quite plentiful and we're sure the ham and turkeys served were enjoyed by all. These surplus commodities help to hold down the cost of the meal which otherwise, due to higher prices, would need to be raised. This year all new stainless steel kettles and oven pans have replaced the old enameled ones. We find these much better and less expensive in the long run. Also everyone con- cerned like the new serving cart, and the new attachments for the mixer makes work President easier. Our ers the ing thanks to the cooks, helpers, and teach- for the part they have played in making Hot Lunch a succes We appreciate eat a warm, nourishing meal at noon and again we say WTHANKD M133 Anna Chrlstensen Mrs Lottie Christensen mrs Irene Hagan The P T A has been active in sponsoring many activities this year They pre- sented corsages to the teachers at a reception at the Sept P T A meeting They served various dinners to business groups who held meetings at Climbing Hill They also served our own Activity Banquet They sponsored swimming lessons last summer and are planning to sponsor them again this summer They also sponsored a page in the annual The association has had a variety of educational programs, to mention a few Harry Shedd spoke on school legislation, members of the armed services re cruiting services spoke to the parents on what their children could expect upon joining the service ual for Mrs Mrs Mrs training boys' projects The grade school the December P T A meeting T A Officers for 1956 1957 Dwain Loyd Vice President Dwight Davis Treasurer Don Klingensmith Secretary Mrs Mrs Mrs They have sponsored a hobby show, a style show, and the display of the man presented a Christmas program A Officers Elected in April Dwain Loyd Vice W D Martens Roy Whitney Treasurer Secretary r-1.5 ' P. . . - P.T. .
