Starting the evenings events was the Sioux City Recreation Band under the direction of Dale Caris. The crowd then broke up and went in all directions to attend the various sideshows and events. You would wind your way into all corners of the gymnasium in which you participated in the follow- ing events: baseball throw, dart throw, free throw contest, sling shot booth, weight guessing contest, fish pond, and novelty stand. You then journied into the 2nd and 5rd grade room where you could win a beautiful cake on the cake walk. After departing from the gala array contained on the first floor, you meander to the medley of sideshows held in the classrooms. Midst these were the musical pantomine of the Ray Anthony Show and the bubble dancers in connection with the dancing dolls. Following this you trace the shouts coming from the assembly where you viewed several boxing bouts. Now it is time for the highlight of the evening. A hushed silence falls over the audience as the announcement of the king and queen draws near. The result? The Freshmen reign with the Seniors close seconds. All and all, the carnival was a big success. We took in 31002.00 disbursements amounted to S202.S9, thus making 3799.11 our profit. Y 4
