The Class of 54 CLASS FLOWER White Roses CLASS COLORS Light Blue and Silver CLASS MOTTO Onward and Upward Class History In the fall of 1941 seven little girls and boys began a new worldly experience Almost immediately they were given a feeling of security under the guidance and supervision of Miss Vesta Gifford What seemed such a large building from the outside was a friendly comfortable place The big boys and girls that tread so laughingly up to the top floor were our heros and heroines and aroused our hopes and ambitions to follow in their foot steps Five of these charter members have stayed at C H111 through the years to graduate They are Patrlca Allner Carolyn Christens n Lea Kohlhof Ronnie Michener and Dwight Wickstrom ln the Znd grade Mary Smith Walter Davis and Ronald Hanner Joined our class Mary Ann Kobs and Merle Dicks in 3rd Margie Hummel in 6th Darlene Jansen Neale Harker and Eddie Morgal in 8th Ronald Hanner moved away when we were Freshmen Evelyn Ryan was in our class during our Sophomore year and Leonard Weatherwalks in our junior year Neale Harker left for the service after finishing his junior year Our class has always been known for having fun and we contmuepl to do so after entering high school At first we were a little timid but Freshman initiation were always kept busy by school work music declam baseball and basketball When Sophmores our class gave a high school roller skating party as well as several class parties We also had geometry which we dreaded from the sounds of upper classmens stories and we soon decided it wasn t bad after all rather enjoyed it And then we were juniors! What fun we had and also a lot of work There was a continual buzz of activity During the first few months of school we received our class rings and presented our junior class play Silas Smldge from Turnip Ridge At the annual school carnival our class candidates Neale Harker and Margie Hummel were elected King and Queen On April 17 the junior and Semor Banquet the Mardi Gras Now as Seniors we are busier than ever ln the fall our class cand1dB!eS Ronme Michener and Carolyn Christensen were carnival King and Queen On April 9 we enjoyed the junior and Semor Banquet in Ori ntal Gardens April 30 presented our Senior class play Aunt Cathies Cat Semor Career Day helped us decrde what we wanted to do after graduating We had lots of fun on our surprise skip day Then at last came Graduation - !
