The play setting was in the Brannigan home in the Ozarks. The ffamily goes into a hillbilly act to prove that Kayes aristocratic friends are a ifarce. They started the season with a bang, winning the first four, but coming out on the short end of the next three. Monte Brinker was the chief receiver, with Don Jansen filling in as substitute catcher. LaVere Groth led the hitters with a .500 average. Tied for second place were Richard Schwanke and Don Jansen with an impressive .444 seasons average. Junior Smith was slugging in the cleanup slot. The thirteen frightened and sub- dued Freshmen were forced to wear any old thing from rubber boots to what is commonly known as women's hats. In the afternoon we performed with ease and much dexterity for an assembled crowd of about 400 interested fans. After an afternoon of such abuse, the Seniors took pity on us and treated us to an evening of roller skating, and continued the initiation. The Freshmen found the skating more enjoyable.
