magazine We attacked the Curtis Magazine sales again this year For one week after September Lth every house wife had two salesmen on her back porch two in the kitchen and more in sight But such salesmanship proved worth while Margaret Vestal won a trophy as high salesman The sales amounted to S335 LS, our take was S109 77 which gave life to the much depleated activity fund Too bad Mr Vestal can't win some of those malts 'futume Teache fn s Because of the large classes in the grades, teacher training was instituted this year Six senior girls, Delora Hackett, Geraldine Smith, Delores Baird, Wvonne Ball, Donna Hanner and Janet Hummel, have taken over several classes We hope that this experience will encourage the girls to make teaching their pro fession 'nsfmas Peofje am The Annual Christmas program was given honday evening Dec 18 1950 All the grades participating Primary and First Grades Christmas Dance Second Grades Santa's Work Shop Fifth and Sixth Grades 'That Blessed Night Seventh and Eighth Grades Santa's Visit to C Hill written and produced by 7th and 8th Grade High School Mixed Chorus Christmas Songs For all the good things he does for us, our sincere thanks goes to Pete Though we won't forget the day he had so much work to do he kung the flag up side dovn' Of course, a lot of work and a lot of kids could cause any one great distress at times Than. s Pl ze I , . . ll of Less 'rea . -' lg In , On wednesday May 9, 1951, the Home Ec. girls enter- tained their mothers at a tea. The artistically arranged bouquet or carnations in pastel colors made an especially attractive center piece. The plain green linen tea cloth, dainty china and tall white candles gave the table a fes- tive appearance The favors were minature corsages made by the girls The dainty menu consisted of May Day sand wlches, tea cakes decorated in pastel colors, tea and mints The style show put on by the girls gave the mothers a good idea of what their daughters had been doing in Home E They were also entertained by a Who's Who Among Our Mothers, and a skit ent1tled,'She Llstened to a Nightmare' The freshman and sophomore Home Ec girls planned, Banquet December 19 1950 The tables were gaily d corated with red and white streamers, sprigs of ever green with red berries, white tapers, and the centerpiece a large red Santa After the dinner and an extemporaneous program a Christmas Exchange of gifts was enjoyed County Supt C G Hadley and wife were guests 28 c. prepared, and served the annual School Board-Faculty , . e-
