OUR SEARCH FOR KNOWLEDGE FOREWORD It is the hope of the Eagle Staff that in time to come these reflections of our life at Climax High, with its varied program, will be a true mirror of memories for each student. We have attempted to capture and record the glimpses of enthusiasm, concen- tration, loyalty, gaiety, and sorrow which are all incorporated to make each day a new and vital experience. May the life of each of us serve to reflect the spirit and ideals instilled within us during our four- year sojourn here. mrwur ,gpg SCIENCES General Science, biology, and chemistry, which constitute our science program, give the student a fundamental understanding of scientific facts and create a thirst for the quest of the undiscovered and the unproved. We are made to feel that we will play a vital part in conquering a great new World . MATHEMATICS The mathematical courses are some of the most challenging ones available at our school. Al- gebra and plane geometry are most complex sub- jects which require many hours of diligent study. This extensive program is necessary for the pro- per mental development required for the many technical jobs today. SOCIAL STUDIES To prepare us to accept our American heri- tage as citizens of our community, our nation, and our world, whether it be as leaders or as fol- lowers, We are introduced to and schooled in the principles of a democratic way of life through such courses as Virginia History, U. S. History, World History, and Geography. LANGUAGE ARTS English, requiring four years of literature and grammar, with our electives - -Spanish and French, play an important part in our college preparatory program. These supply us with a fundamental background in grammar as well as an appreciation for good literature. KNOWLEDGE .... IS A SEARCH FOR 5
