This year was no exception. The Club has had con- siderably good attendance at all the meetings and contests. The club has two new members in the Pitts- ylvania County Honor Club, and five second year members. They attended the banquet for the in- itiation of new members held in the Elks Club in Danville, The club received fifty dollars for the ex- hibits in the Danville Fair, The club placed first in the county and second in district. Many indivi- duals received ribbons and cash awards for their participation, Jacqueline Williams won the district award for her demonstration in state competition. She also won first place on her achievement record, The club is also proud of Adeline Blair who won fir st p l a c e on her demonstration at Electric School. The c1ub's mostoutstanding event was when Lucy Anne Blair was chosen to be an All-Star at the State Short Course at Blacksburg. 37 If

The dog-eared dummy was at last sent in near the deadline. The annual was entered in the S,I,P.A. and the Virginia High School League, This annual which was better than ever must come back with an award from some of these contests. The members attending the S.I.P.A, Conven- tion in Lexington had awonderful time, taking in everything, We know that we could not have accomplished A J' Y this had it not been for the guidance of our ever- faithful sponsor, Mr. Carter, whose cheerfulness at fir, and patience has kept us pulling through. The co- operation of the staff was necessary to complete this annual. It is our hope that we have responded adequately to the high calling of our task- -to cap- ture the highlights and the spirit of this school year and to preserve them forever on these pages . 36
