Sponsors Valedictorian of the Senior Class is Mrs. Nancy Shelton Mayhew, who has an average of 95.8. Nancy has also taken an active part in school activities. She was president of her class in 1954, is an excell- ent basketball player, both forward and guard, and played three years for Climax. Nancy also has a nice voice and is a great asset to the Glee Club. In the Beta Club she has served faithfully for three and a half years and was elected Treasurer of the Pittsylvania Federation for 1955-56. Salutatorian of the SeniorClass is Horace Towler with an average of 95.3. Horace has been taking all the col- lege preparatory courses offered in order to enter V. P. I., where he plans to major in electrical engineering. On the A.C.E. Test, given to all Seniors, he made one of the highest scores ever made by a student of Climax. Horace has not only done well in class but has proved his ability in the school ' s extra-curricular activities as well. He has won several awards for 4-H work, both in the District and State Contests. He has been a member of the annual staff for several years and is Editor of this edition. Congratulations to Nancy and Horace for their achievements and also our thanks for having made Climax a better school .
