The publications class puts out the DESERT SONG and TROJAN at CHS. Students are taught basic journalism fundamentals in writing a story as well as laying out the paper. The TROJAN staff also works during this period compiling the annual. Mrs. Wade is also an instructor of English II and has one Bookkeeping class. Bachelor of Science 1957 Taylor University Master of Science 1962 Indiana University Volleyball Coach Junior Class Co-Sponsor MISS LOIS SEIBEL GIRIb’ P. E. Sports for enjoyment and personal fitness were stressed in the girls’ P.E. classes this year. To aid in achieving these goals, C.H.S.’s physical education department offers abroad variety of games and activities in order to meet the varied personal needs of the individual class members. Girls participated in various sports, including volleyball, basketball, and speed-ball. This year a new sport was introduced to the girls, field hockey which needs a lot of confusing equipment as the goalie in the lower left picture demonstrates as she blocks the ball.

School Nurse and Secretary Help Keep School Running Smoothly Mrs. Paterson, the school nurse, helps out both at the grade school and the high school. V Among her many duties, Mrs. Paterson gave physicals to students at the beginning of school. Mrs. Webster is also in charge of the bookstore and was very busy at the first of the school year. This year Mrs. Webster is the peimanent secretary at CHS. 23
