SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Graduation day had finally arrived for the class of ’52. Time now to look back over the past four years—four years of fun and friendship, but most important, four years of learning. To think that it all began when 66 bewildered and frightened freshmen entered the halls of C.H.S. After the dreaded initiation, a class picnic, and the freshman return dance, the class officers of that year—Manuel Perea, president; Henry Tavison, vice-president; Cecilia Chavez, secretary; and Fred Montez, treasurer—closed an exciting grade. In no time at all, our sophomore year had ended. We had sponsored the freshman initiation and freshman welcome dance. Our class, the first sophomore class to sell at a football game, won recognition in the Trojan staff’s “Big Show”. The year, closed by the class picnic, was managed and led by the following officers— Charles Spezia, president; Melsina Scott, vice-president; Cecilia Chavez, secretary; and Richard McCusker, treasurer. Recognized as taking a prominent part in school affairs, our junior year was highlighted by the Senior Ball, the class picnic, and the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. Adolfo Perez—presi- dent, Richard McCusker-vice-president, Melsina Scott-secretary, and Johnny Rutherford—treasurer were class officers for that year. As seniors we graduated with a record of tremendous accomp lishment. Besides the Junior-Senior banquet and prom, the Senior Ball, and selling at games, the highlights of the year mainly centered around Senior Day at Tucson, and, of course, “ditch day” held on May 9th. Sponsors: Mrs. Luevanos and Mr. Loughran.
