LOUIS CABRAL SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Through their four years of advanced learning in Clifton High School, the Seniors have enjoyed many pleasures which will not be enjoyed again and are leaving behind memories of teachers, close friends, and halls of a swell high school which will not be erased from their minds. In September of 1947, fifty bewildered Freshmen entered the halls of C. H. S. not knowing what was ahead but willing to face whatever they might meet. The first activity they met was the traditional initiation. The freshmen, return dance was given during the latter part of the year. Officers for that year were: Presi- dent, Raul Chavarria; Vice-President, Dolores Holguin; Secretary, Ernesto Cast- aneda; Treasurer, Frank Murillo. Mrs. Downs acted as sponsor. Pushing forward they came to their Sophomore year. At the beginning of the year a revengeful initiation was held and was followed by the “Freshmen Welcome” dance. The class was led by: President, Raul Chavarria; Vice-President, Dolores Holguin; ‘Secretary, Natalia Castaneda; Treasurer, Ernesto Castaneda. Sponsor for the year was Mr. McGuire. Still stepping upward they came to their Junior year. The most important event was the Junior-Senior Prom. Funds for this occa sion were raised by selling hot dogs, pop-corn, and cokes at football games. The Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet was held on May 14 with the auditorium attractively decorated to the theme of Moonlight and Roses. Class officers were: President, Roger Verdugo; Vice-President, Bill Anderson; Secretary, Natalia Castaneda; Treasurer, Deanie Bowman. Sponsors were Miss Meyer and Mr. McGuire. The class now reached its goal, long awaited by all members as they entered the halls of C. H. S. for their final year. This term for the first time in several years a Senior Ball was held on October 29. Fun was had by all with a Halloween theme. The Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet was held April 15. Both proved to be very successful. The customary Senior Ditch Day was held on May 8 and was greatly enjoyed by all the Seniors. Class officers were: President, Bill Anderson; Vice-President, Andrew Brown; Secretary, Raymon Tavison; Treasurer, Imogene Romisch. Miss Meyer and Mr. McGuire were sponsors. As the class of 1950 look back to the good old days and says goodbye to the halls of C. H. S., they wait for the time when they will receive their diplomas'and step into the world where each will take his own road hoping for the best in the future.
