The 1972 Mountain Echo Staff ded- icates this book, the record of this year's acheivements, to one of our favorites on the coaching staff. He came to us in 1965 as a graduate of Oneonta, and got his Master's De- gree in guidance in the summer of 1970. A large part of his work is with the primary grades where he is well liked, but his major concern is with developing all students into well-rounded adults. The shining star in his life is wrestling. He be- gan in 1965 to build his champions. Every day after school during the sea- son, you will find him in the all pur- pose room, working out with, and encouraging his wrestlers. Ata brief glance he might seem inconspicious but to those who know him he is an important factor in their lives. It is he whom you will find offering to chaperone dances, and he is the one who first insisted on spectator buses for wrestling. For all the hours of devotion to the development of boys into men, we dedicate the 1972 Mountain Echo to Joe Russo. 6
