When we see someone doing good and spreading happiness on earth, we some- times find it hard to understand why God should decide to end it all: We must realize that this is not the end. For all the love and understanding she gave her family and friends, and all the knowledge and love she imparted to her second graders, Kathleen Robertson is being rewarded a thousand-fold. We’ll all miss her — faculty, student body, and particularly her class, to whom she was like a mother away-from-home, but we can be happy knowing that she is eternally happy and at peace. Probably the most difficult thing to understand about life, is the fact that it can end suddenly, and very early. We find it hard to accept the fact that God would take away the vigor and strength of such a young man for no apparent reason. Yet we must and shall accept it as God’s will, for which He need give no reason. Those who knew Gerald Hodgkiss well, will realize that although they are at a loss, he has gained a calm and peace, away from the sickness, sorrows, and anxieties of this world. We’re very sorry his family has had to suffer this loss, but we can be glad for Gerry, who has found a quiet resting place. When someone has served a community, teaching its children, for as many years as Ann Burkett has, the community can not help but feel her loss as a great personal tragedy. Many people of the community were in her class at one time or another, and none will ever forget her, nor should they. What shethas given in educating these people can not be taken away or destroyed, and because of this, her memory will like- wise live on, even though she can not.
