In Memoriam When we see someone doing good and spreading happiness on earth, we some- times find it hard to understand why God should decide to end it all: We must realize that this is not the end. For all the love and understanding she gave her family and friends, and all the knowledge and love she imparted to her second graders, Kathleen Robertson is being rewarded a thousand-fold. We’ll all miss her — faculty, student body, and particularly her class, to whom she was like a mother away-from-home, but we can be happy knowing that she is eternally happy and at peace. Probably the most difficult thing to understand about life, is the fact that it can end suddenly, and very early. We find it hard to accept the fact that God would take away the vigor and strength of such a young man for no apparent reason. Yet we must and shall accept it as God’s will, for which He need give no reason. Those who knew Gerald Hodgkiss well, will realize that although they are at a loss, he has gained a calm and peace, away from the sickness, sorrows, and anxieties of this world. We’re very sorry his family has had to suffer this loss, but we can be glad for Gerry, who has found a quiet resting place. When someone has served a community, teaching its children, for as many years as Ann Burkett has, the community can not help but feel her loss as a great personal tragedy. Many people of the community were in her class at one time or another, and none will ever forget her, nor should they. What shethas given in educating these people can not be taken away or destroyed, and because of this, her memory will like- wise live on, even though she can not. 1ST: Diane Kere, Linda Titus, Laura Sutherland, Fred Lasher, Brenda Slate, Mary Bassette. 2ND: Mr. Paquin, Bruce Amo, Richard Foley, Judi Beaulieu, Regine Gebo, David Hodge, JoAnn King, Stuart McCullouch, Francis Peterson, Thomas Hanley, Cheri Jarvis, Doug Rowand. SALLY TEBO has started a nationwide fan club for her favorite personality, Mr. Minarcik. HAROLD TERRY has formulated a new type of pesti- cide. You’ll remember he was always a pest at C.F.C.S. MARVIN TERRY is the top taxi driver for the area. He says that in just a few more weeks he will be able to trade in his famed Ford. ALLEN THORNTON is now official judge at the Miss America Pageant. It seems that the girls have gone from one piece bathing suits to bikinis. LINDA TITUS is the Mother of the Year. Her secret to success'is stuff your ears with cotton and let ’em rip”. GLENNA TUBBS is now working with the famous Doctor Kildare in an all men’s hospital; I hear. GARY WARD is now a famous author. His best known book is entitled, 500 Ways to Crib on an Exam. I don’t know where he got his information. JUDY WENDT, the studious member of our class, is now associate American History teacher with Mr. Colton. DOUGLAS WIGGINS has joined the Navaho Indians and is really murdering the language. DONALD WRIGHT is still driving for the senior class bake sales at Clifton-Fine. He simply goes wild every time a lady in a filmy, pink negligee answers the door. 21 . .serious study, .. .grueling toil, . . .unbelievable sacrifice .. .and a willingness to peacefully settle all disputes. Compliments of SUNNYSIDE DAIRY Edwards, N.Y. G.A.A. The girls athletic association pro- vides an intramural sports program which includes soccer, basketball, volleyball, and softball. Girls earn points toward their letters by par- ticipating. G.A.A. teaches good sportsmanship and fair play, trains student officials, and builds leader- ship and skills. The president directs organiza- tion and plans the award picnic. The Vice-president arranges for referees, scorers, and timers. The secretary records the points earned in each sport. The publicity chair- man keeps our school informed of our activities via the school paper. Leaders Club The members of the Leaders Club help in girls physical educa- tion classes by caring for equipment and leading warm-up exercises. For intramural games, they referee and keep time and score book. Girls chosen must show leader- ship and be responsible to others. 46 FIRST ROW: S. Rixon, M. Santimaw, R. Arnold, N. Sullivan, L. Blue and Gold The National Honor Society was founded at Clifton Fine in 1956 to encourage and foster in all students' a desire to improve in the four ■basis’ elements of a sound educa- tion. These basic elements are Char- acter, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. For some of our students membership in the Society is a crowning achievement. For all of our students the ideals of the Na- tional Honor Society are the goals that you should constantly keep in mind as you move through high school. With these goals in mind you will achieve the best pos- sible education, the kind that will serve you through adult life. Under Editor Ruthann Golden and advisors, Mrs. Climenson and Mrs. Winch, our staff has been moving onwa-rd towards better olue and Golds. We feel rather proud as we have had several articles pub- lished in the STUDENT PRESS. This is quite an honor. We try to please and hope that we have. FIRST ROW: J. Shene, S. Golden, G. Leonard, L.
