Congratulations to the Senior Class of 1964, and the members of the staff on the “Mountain Echo” and their advisor, Mr. Stangle. We are grateful to all of those who have given their efforts to provide us with this yearbook. In this day of everyone telling what went wrong with our public schools, let’s forget the fault and do something about the problem. We must see that our schools do everything possible to get every student to do his best. Parents must help to get their sons or daughters to work harder than ever before. They must insist that their boy or girl take the “tough courses” if he or she has the ability. They must see that home- work is done—even if it interferes with T.V. programs and other activities. We must insist on “respect for authority” both at “home” and in “school.” We must also develop “respect for learning.” We here at school are ready to double our efforts and put forth the best that is in us. We know that we can count on the students and parents putting forth their best—so that it no longer will be a case of everyone “trying to get by.” 4
