We, the Senior Class of 1954, deem it a distinct privilege to pay this tribute to a person who has given so freely and so much of himself to the youth of this community. His devotion to duty, his sympathetic understanding and his sincere interest in young people and of the future of our Great Nation make him fully qualified for this citation. It is with genuine appreciation that we dedicate our annual to our Principal and friend, Mr. Patrick Anthony Miranda.

2 Each of us has his appointed tasks to perform in this world. The execution of those tasks is rightfully expected of each of us. We wish to congratulate those who have conscientiously done what was expected of them. However, we would especially like to praise those who not only fulfill their ap- pointed tasks but also capably and devotedly fulfill tasks beyond the call of duty. Such a person is Miss Dorothy Allen who was not only instrumental in the founding of this yearbook, THE MOUNTAIN ECHO, but has acted as its advisor since its origin. To you, Miss Allen, we humbly extendour most grateful appreciation for the time, effort, and guidance necessary for the realization of such a memorable publication.
