FREEDOM Several weeks ago I had the pleasure of listening to three men discuss our National and Foreign Policy, In this conversation I heard one man heavily criticize President Roosevelt. Eventually this same man brought the conversa- tion to our own community. His philosophy and speech did not change. He went so far as to mention names and openly criticize our communi- ty and its officials. Although his points were not agreed upon by the others, neverthe- less they were stated. HE WAS HIGHLY INSULTED BECAUSE WE DID NOT AGREE WITH HIM. I could not help but wonder while our friend was talking what would have happened him if in the presence of three witnesses he had similarly attacked Stalin, Hitler, or Mussolini Would he not have been instantly imprisoned, lf not hot at sunrise? I congratulated the gentleman that he lived in a country and community where he could freely and safely express his opinion of men in high offlce without fear of dire consequences, but I felt he should be the last one to wish to instill in others the right which he himself enjoyed sa ' Q , I 1 P g.
