GAYE RAMSTROM, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity Homecoming Miss Shirley McBride, this year's Homecom- ing Queen candidate of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fra- ternity, was chosen fairest of the Cleveland State Coeds last November at Public Hall. Chic, charming, and witty, Miss McBride wowed stu- dents and judges alike and proved to be a perfect Queen. Shirley is dynamic on campus being a mem- ber of the cheerleading squad, Independent Students' Association, French Club, and Big Sister Program. Through the careful budgeting of her time, Shirley is still able to maintain a high cumulative average while pursuing the double majors of French and Spanish. Miss McBride sums up her philosophy of education by saying, I believe it is extremely important for the commuter student of CSU to involve himself in school activities so as to bring about total collegiate development. Good looks, intelligence, and involvement combine to make 1968's Homecoming Queen a tribute to Cleveland State University, Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, and the CSU coed. Who's Who is a national organization founded in 1934 to recognize a student's leadership, scholarship, extracurricular activities, citizenship, and promise of future success. It is an annual directory composed of distinguished students from all over America who are attending colleges and universities. The students of C.S.U. that have been nominated for acceptance by Who's Who were selected by a campus committee involving student-faculty-adminis- trative participation, with the final nominations being signed by a faculty or administration member. Being nominated or recommended by C.S.U. is only the first step-next the student must be accepted by U'7ho'.v Who Among Students In American Urzivferrifier ami Colleges. If accepted, the student's biography and school will appear in this national volume. Who's Who has four major goals: Q15 To inspire greater efforts in others to perform to the best of their ability. QQ To remind students that intelligent use of one's time is the key to success. Q55 To honor outstanding effort and achievement. Q45 To provide a means for students to compare themselves to other students in other parts of the country. Who s Who At C.S.U.
