Royal C draws large crowd. Court and Team Honored by Royal C Excitement of lovel rincesses . . . mountin curiosit of all . . . festive Y P g, Y decorations . . . this is the scene of the Royal C ' Student Body Foot-Ball which honored the football team and ended the successful season. Tension mounted as Mike Gedrose, captain of the team, prepared to announcerthe Queen of the annual event. The long awaited moment finally came when Vinnie Dixon was announced Royal C Queen. Screams of approval were heard as a white orchid was presented to Queen Vinnie and white carna- ueen Vinnie beams with leasure at rin- tions to her court: Sharon Branson, Vicki Fix, Etta Ho att, and Marian P P gg cesses Etta Hoggatt and Marian Kristich. Senior Class Honor Royalty at Freshie Frolic Screams of approval from the crowd of Freshmen and Seniors could be heard all over Cleveland. Rossie Cox and Norm VValker were announced as Freshie Queen and King at the annual Freshie Frolic presented by the seniors. Other members of the court were: Princesses Leslie Buckhorn, Carol Ersman, jan Sorenson, Linda Corbin, judy Sutter, and lvona Oliver, and Princes: jim Zervis. john Gilhaugh. Tom Taylor, jim Elliot, Gary Alberdt. and Pat Miles. A great shew was presented by the senior class emceed by none other than Ed Sullivan alias judy Halverson. The entertainment included the Clue Clops Combos rendition of Flip Top Box, a record logue of Banana Boat, the Four Little Girls, a Charleston number, and several vocal solos. john Morrison's advertising for Sudzy, Dudzy Soap Suds kept the laughter of the crowd loud and continuous. After the program, refreshments were served in the cafeteria. Green and yellow colored crepe paper decorated the tables where cookies and punch were served. jeannie Knight and Bob Morrow sport their Daisy Mae and Li'l Abner outfits. s ,g,,-ure' Li'l Abner and Daisy Mae Crowned at Twirp Dance Potato sacks, suckers, and hill-billy outfits were the fashion mode at the Daisy Mae Dragf' the annual Twirp Dance sponsored by Amikki. The dance climaxed a three-day week of courtesy, pigtails, and daisies in the female department and relaxation and pleasure on the part of the male members of the student body. In honor of the fictitious comic strip char- acters Liil Abner and Daisy Mae, the cafeteria was bedecked with comic strips and crepe paper. A gold plunger, carrot bouquet, and radish boutonniere were sported by the best Daisy Mae and Li'l Abner, Jeannie Knight and Bob Morrow, '58 Cleveland graduate, who reigned as king and queen. Another feature of the Twirp was the Whiskerino', fa beard-growing contestj.
