Excitement Released at Dedication Students exploded with excitement as the dedication ceremonies for the new gym began. This event pre- ceeded the vital Grant-Cleveland game. Special guest speakers were Mr. Roy O. Malo, Principal, Mr. W. Edwards, Superintendent, and Mr. Herbert M. Schwab, Director of The Board of Education. The after-game dance, Dedication Drag, was sponsored by the Inter- national Relations Club. The land for the first school was donated by Clinton Kelly, a pioneer, and the first school was built in 1858. This picture shows Clinton Kelly High School. This year, along with the Oregon Centennial, students of Cleve- land High School proudly celebrated their school's centennial, also. K7 V Y . Dances Highlight School Year Soft lights, soft music descriptive of both the King of Hearts and' Enchanted Wonderland, Christmas formal. Troleeis annual King of Hearts drew couples from all corners of the city. The Christmas formal, sponsored by Pi Up, Phi Theta, and Kuisti, provided the students with an opportunity to visit with former Clevelandites. Mike Crantis band kept the couples in a lively mood amidst the festive decorations of snowflakes, angel hair and a beautiful White Christmas tree ornameuted with crisp red bows. Soft lights, soft music set mood for Christmas Formal. inks!
