Rosemarie Vassallo Sharon Turley Paulette Boemer Sandra Koenen I02 F.T.A., in affiliation with the National Education Association, was first introduced to Cleveland in November of l957 by Mr. R. Waggoner and is the only vocational club in the school. During the current year, under the able sponsorship of Mr. Waggener, the club prepared a very fruitful agenda which included field trips to the University of Missouri, Gallaudet School for the Deaf, St. Louis University, and attendance at their state F.T.A. convention held in St. Louis this year. The club also enjoyed a well rounded program of guest speakers from numerous phases of the educational field. Meetings are held every Monday evening after school in room 213. WEB TER-HAYNE ROW ONE: Dale Daniels, Joyce Tomanec, Charles Scharnberger, Marlene Anne Willis, Richard Emde. ROW TWO: Mr. Harold Doxsee, David L. Bates, Richard Rosenthal, Kenneth Schild, Fred Lohrmann, David Bagby. Oh, what lid do with a million! Reputed to be Cleveland's oldest club, the Webster-Hayne Debating Society under the direction of lVlr. Herald M. Doxsee is certainly one of the most lively clubs here-ask any member! At the Weekly meetings, the members participate in debates, both formal and inform- al, and extemporaneous or 'cshoestringu talks. Sound interesting? VVhy not give it a try? The people in the club will give you any help and encouragement you may need. One of the high points of the school year was a mock trial put on by the club for the benefit and entertainment of the student body. In extracurricular activities the Webster- Hayners participate individually in dramatics, speech contests and tournaments, as well as many other speaking adventures.

Annual occurrences include the Christmas party, which always proves to be an evening of wonderful fun. The meetings are open to all to come and have Christian fellowship. All Clevelandites are welcome at the Tuesday meetings. I03
