, X ggi-5' ' Q fss t fr DAILY AUDITORIUM SESSIONS The new arrangement, inaugurated this semester, whereby pupils go to lunch during a free period-the fourth, fifth, or sixth-has brought about some interesting changes in the regular routine of school life. ln the first place with three lunch periods instead of the two which were formerly provided service in the lunch room has been facilitated and the con gestion there ha been relleved Since our enrollment is far beyond the nor mal capacity of our bulldlng the advantage of this is readily apparent to hungry boys and girls ln the second place the new arrangement allows time for a short audi torrum se slon every day at the close of each of the three periods mentioned Thus we have had many more opportunities than was formerly the case to hear addresses by various speakers and to be entertained by clubs and by individual pupils of the school The committee of teachers in charge of these as emblies Mr Ewers Mr Mark Moody and Miss Weeks are to be given credit for arranging many interesting programs during the term The amount and variety of talent available among our fellow pupils has been a revelation to some of us One disadvantage of the arrangement lies in the fact that when a club presents a program all its members must miss a large part of their class work during two of the three periods This should act as an incentive to club mem bers to maintain such standing 1n their studies that they can afford to be absent from class once or twice durlng the term if called upon to take part in one of these programs For the pupll who engages ln these audltorlum exercises the experience of appearing ln public IS not without value and the fact that ln each of the three assemblies he IS laying claim to the interest and attention of many hundreds of hearers should stimulate him to put forth hrs best efforts Everything considered the new plan has worked out successfully and has been welcomed by the pupils as a feature which adds to the interest of school life Q, F j QTL' Ulfimi- Qjql P! ,T nh' W V15 -ng, X K Page Szx V 1 , - S .
