JQ 70 c:Tf XXOtSJ There was happiness and satisfaction when the last page of the 1970 Arrow went to press. Mrs. Barton and I had worked endlessly to produce a “better yearbook”, and we felt as if our efforts had paid off. But there was also a trace of sadness in the yearbook’s comple- tion. The year 1969-70 cannot be relived except in memories and I hope 1 have recorded these memories as vividly as you lived them. As C.H.S. students, only you and I can look back upon this year through the eyes of love. 2 CZ XXOVJ iPul [uLcl ' i 174 ZZOCAJ taff CL danci c:HL k oo[ (l[E(js[anc[ LnLa V ' 6 7 8 iJnitxuciion 9 ]44, tliE zzoLhj tajj, l2Z£.±£.nt tliLi. igdQ-JO voLuitle to LeUHOZ C. eiA . . . because she has inspired the students of C.H.S. to strive harder for the rewarding goals which they themselves have dreamed of. Mrs. Reid came to Cleveland High in 1966, and later became the Senior English teacher, as well as Senior sponsor. Through her efforts, the Hi-Y has grown to be an important Christian organization in the school. All of Cleveland High’s activities reflect the care and work that Mrs. Reid has put forth. Cleveland High has surely become a better place for Mrs. Reid having been here. 10 ASS’T PRINCIPAL; Mr. Lairy Massie PRINCIPAL: Mr. Donald Moore SECRETARY: Rosemary Maxfield 1 1 A typical scene in the office 12 MRS. During our five years at C.H.S. we, the Class of 1970, have passed from adolescence to adulthood. We have enjoyed experiences which will fill our lifetimes with memories. Together we have shared laughter, shared tears, shared triumphs, and shared losses. In this, our senior year, we have struggled for a foothold in tomorrow and we have spent long hours in preparation for our future. We have spent time in planning for graduation, measuring for caps and gowns, applying to schools and colleges, and for a few of us, acquiring wedding bands. These years have been rich and rewarding and the Seniors of ’70, not too gladly, say goodbye. 62 Elizabeth Gail Breeding Gary Junior Bailey Joyce Lorine Hubbard Kenneth Frost Crabtree Theresa Lea Combs EnLoz± Linden Darrell Combs Troy Frederick Harri s Vickie Lee Jackson Thomas Edward Johnson Roger Lee Kiser Valerie Jean Parrot Ranzy Dow Powers Brenda Musick Price Pamela Lorine Powers Peggy Artrip Ray Linda Gay Rasnake Ruby Jane Skeens Linda Joanne Smith Jean Elaine Smith Terry Lynn Sutherland ErZLOtl Lillian Catherine Wilson c znLox ::if s:l2XE± ntatL(jE± Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow: Jean Smith junior Miss Contest- 1st Runner-Up: Linda Smith Pow Wow Editor: Gail Breeding Boys’ and Girls’ State: Vickie Jackson, Freddie Arrington and Linda Smith Junior Miss Contest- 3rd Runner-up: Pam Blizzard S.C.A.
