It is difficult to realize I am the only vice principal Cleveland has ever had. The thirty-five years have gone by rapidly and have been busy years, full, and challenging. They have been rich in friendships and opportunities to serve onels fellow-men and have offered associations that have been very rewarding. I have been proud of our school's record in scholarship, in athletics, and I am now particularly pleased that our school morale is at an all time high. My wife and I will soon be leaving on an extensive trip to Europe, the Holy Land, Egypt, and North Africa. Wherever I may journey, my heart and prayers will always be at Cleveland as the better part of myself has been left here. I have no fear for the future of the school. The symbols of our idealism are ever with us. We are fortunate that our colors are red and white. The white stands for purity of purpose, the ideals for which we strive, the red symbolizes courage, bravery, and the will to do. Our mascot, the eagle, chose not the ease of protection, but rather the lofty mountain pinnacles where he struggles against rain, snow, and bitter storms. His reward is the freedom of the skies and his home the blue vault of heaven. , To say farewell is too final. I shall just say good luck and God bless you. ' RAY K. IMUS 2 zbe QZzhcMalUm.
