FCREWORD Four years 1S a long t1me Four years rn school IS an even longer t1me That IS 1ts a long t1me when you look forward to rt because when you look back at 1t four years went awfully fast It seems l1ke no t1me at all s1nce the senrors walked rn the doors of h1gh school and now that they are leav1ng for the last t1me you can see on the1r faces a varlety of expressrons Some are glad some pleased a few surpnsed a few thankful but most of them look Just a 11tle b1t sad when they walk out the door for the last t1me The four years spent 1n h1gh school are the most pleasurable years 1n a persons l1fe and 1lS not very funny when you say good bye to them There IS somethlng more on the pages of th1s book than just words and prctures It 1S sornethmg very hard to defme If you look at your annual before anythrng has been wrrt ten 1n 1t and then after a few days when the pages are crowded Wllh names you look at 1t agam perhaps then you w1ll understand ll . . . . . . .1 . . , 1 1 I , - 1 1 1 1 . . . 1 . .1 1 1 .

1927 1947 Over twenty years ago the students rn the Georgetown H1gh School watched wxth eager ant1c1pat1on out the W1ndoWs of the1r crowded portables Up on the h1ll therr school bu11d1ng was be1ng burlt They watched 1t grow It took a long tlme but tlnally when 1t was ready everyone packed hrs books and papers and 1n a body they walked up Luc1le Street over the bndge up the h1ll and through the b1g gate past the bronze plate that read Grover Cleveland H1gh School 1926 That was twenty wears ago And today they st1ll walk up Luc1le Street to school over the br1dge up the h1ll and through the b1g gate past the bronze plate that st1ll reads Grover Cleveland H1gh School 1926 Thmgs are pretty much the same The board walk 1S m1ss1ng now the new look to the shrubs and grass lS gone some ot the teachers have left and new ones have taken the1r places there IS a drfterent pr1nc1pal and ot course there are d1f ferent laces and d1fferent names among the students but 1t IS st1ll the same school And 1t w11l always be the same school because rt there IS anyth1ng you cant change you cant change a school 5 I . . , 1 1 1 1 1 ' 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 ' 1 . - - - - 1 1 I 1
