Class of 1946 First Semester: Miss Hanson, Bob Barr, Mary Lou Bowden Pete Mataya Grace Hoenshell Second Semester Steve Hale Pete Malaya Madlyn Hummel What seemed so far distant back in 1942 when this class hrst became high chool students 1S now on hand as this group prepares for graduation Through the four years many 1nterrupt1ons have been made the foremost being World War ll As freshmen th1s class first became known after the freshman party Under the leadershrp of Frank Brown pres1dent Marron Hines vice president Roberta Sears secretary and Donna Selzer treasurer this class moved on to greater thmgs Vodvil Spring Revue and sports were among the GCl1V1l1eS the freshmen helped to put over The ophomore class elected as their offxcers Henry Van Houtte president Carmen DeLauro vice pres1dent Luther McCullough treasurer and Frank Brown secretary Thrs began another success ful year for the 46 grads Boys participated in sports and the Vodv1l was encouraged by the sopho mores along with the Footlrght Revue Torch Club began to be filled w1th sophomores and also the service clubs around school realized their help and cooperat1on The music department also be came an active mterest of the sophomore class Finally as upperclassmen this group began to give their full support in the run of the school Under ness treasurer and Grace Hoenschell secretary This year also many boys joined the service or quit school to take on the 1ob of war But carry on as th1s class was bound to do the Vodvll was a complete success and as junrors parts in the senlor play were accepted Representatives from this class were in every act1v1ty of the school including debate Iournal annual Boys and Girls Club and sports The Vodvil sports sen1or play semor luncheon graduatron all are parts of this four year suc cess story The French act a part of the Vodvil attracted much attention Written and produced by Miss Raine Mr Ottum and Miss Phrmister the a t mcluded many seniors Ever Smce Eve the senior play induced seventeen talented members of this class to go dra matrcal Leads were played by Shirley Madsen Ray Prentice Myrtle Lee and Ron Thompson The Interschool council was attended by Phyllis Anderson and Don Aaland presidents of the Girls and Boys Clubs Extracurricular activities were also wholeheartedly supported as was the Big C After four years of travel along this road of education graduation is finally 1n V1eW Along the Way many have dropped out for them the yourney 1S still not complete but as for us we hope that we leave half as many good memories as we bring with us 20 ' I , Q l l S , l S . .
