As we gafher up our pasf records we find fhaf in fhe fall of Sepfember, I926, one hundred eighfeen sfarey-eyed, green loolcing freshmen enfered Cleveland High, down in fhe old Georgefown School. The class was organ- ized wifh Miss Van Orsdal as our firsf adviser: Louis Sfuller wifh 'rhe aid of Leonard Oia presided over our firsf class meefing. Lyall Logan read fhe minufes and Marfina Sloane endeavored fo collecf fwenfy-five cenfs from us for fhe enfire year. The class parfy, a Chrisfmas evenf, was fhe main affracfion. ln our sophomore year we find our class under fhe leadership of Leonard Oia, Alberf Off, Delores DeFaccio, Odelia Ellis, and John Gunning. Mrs. Bailey assumed fhe adviser-ship for fhe year. Purple and whife were chosen as our class colors. Believing ourselves as quife imporfanf, we loolced down upon fhe frosh, wondering how fhey could be so ignoranf and we liffle realized fhere were any upperclassmen. Bur our Purple Pickle and Purple Pie Episode greafly reflecfed our foolishness as upperclassmen and rendered us penniless. Our iunior year broughf us a new affifude foward our school besides giv- ing us fhe exclusive privileges of upperclassmen by affending fhe iunior- senior dances. We find our members faking parf in clebafe, in club acfivifies, playing maior parfs in afhlefics, and carrying ofher school responsibilifies. Delores DeFaccio, George Miller, Willie Segalla, and Marfin Schuehle were our capable and efficienf leaders during fhis year. Miss Van Orsdal again acfed as our adviser. Af lasf, fhe senior year, fhe lasf and fhe biggesf year, arrived. lf found us in fhe posifion of dignified seniors, foo overcome wifh school responsibilifies fo fhinlc of anyfhing else. To guide us fhrough our lasf year, Miss Luccoclc acfed as our sponsor wifh George Miller, Miro Kinlcella, Rufh Neal, Florence Schmidf and Willie Segalla as our class officers. The Senior Play, Sevenfeen, by Boofh Tarlcingfon, presenfed under fhe direcfion of Miss Raine in fhe school audiforium on fhe evenings of January I6 and I7, enabled us fo presenf as a giff fo fhe school. The mafinee dances held during fhe year showed fhaf age and dignify had nof falcen away our youfhful desire fo dance. These enioyable dances were pleasanfly shared wifh fhe iuniors. Thirfeen of our members are in fhe honor sociefy and for fhe firsf semes- fer of our senior year, we received fhe scholarship plaque. On fhe annual moving up day we enferfained fhe resf of fhe school by willing all fhe excess advice and undesirable possessions fo fhe remaining classes: by forefelling fhe fufure of our members and presenfing a giff fo fhe school. The senior Brealcfasf was our lasf gef-fogefher before pracficing for Com- mencemenf. Af lasf fhe greafesf day arrived-- Commencemenf! We had reached our goal.
