Injured fullback Bob Turbow. 65 66 In what can only be described as a disappointing season and in spite of so many fine individual performances, the Heights Football Team finished the season with a 2-8 mark. Injuries to fullback Bob Turbow and two way starter Paul Deering added to the troubles of first year coach Carl Wilson. Heights, dropped the opening football game to defending state champ Massillon, followed by a heart- breaking loss to Valley Forge. This seemed to set the trend for the year as the team just couldn,t get untracked. Two one-point losses to Shaker and Lakewood seemed to epitomize frustration encountered this year. In spite of setback after setback, the team Will probably be remembered as one Which never gave up or lost its competition spirit. There were superlative perform- ances by guard Lee Thomas, tackle Rick Kovatch, and end Pete Vinocur, aas they were named to the L.E.L. offensive team. Other fine efforts included those of seniors Mike Siegel, A1 Stallworth, and juniors Tom Wasson and Mike Stallworth. Rick Kovatch watches from the sidelines. Senior tight end Pete Vinocur '9 , . The staf' .as small and sales were down, but w. till managed to produce an accurate represer ion of the school. The staff spent time organiz in- dividual pages. Our photographers roam: the halls of Heights to take candids of the Stir Wits. They attended numerous meetings, f-giOFtS events, and musical concerts so that we would show you the students and their various activi- ties. Mr. Salvator, our advisor, helped us immensely. Under the capable leadership of Mr- Sztul, the business staff balanced our budget and helped to distribute the completed book. Six student artists did the unique drawings on our divider pages. Bill Lahman did all Of the pictures in the introduction. Marsha Solomon, our underclass editor, was indispensable as a typist and as an assistant editor. She offered her opinion freely and was able to help whenever we needed her. As the 1972 Caldron editors, We had a most unforgettable experience. We iUSt Eepe that you get as much out of the book as We ave.
