Sfudenf Council The Student Council provides oppor- tunities for students to participate in school government, states advisor hir. Paul VViseley. It also gives the members an opportunity to engage in many types of activities. Student Council activities are divided into two groups, Lake Erie League and school. In the fall the officers of Heights, President Sandy Herrick, Vice-President Paul Ruxin, Secretary Kathy Cole, and Treasurer Arlene Mendelson participated in the LEL Student Council Clinic, where students discussed and tried to solve prob- lems concerning their student bodies. The spring activity includes the LEL visita- tion day in which officers can gain infor- mation about the operation of other schools. Activities in and around school include the sponsoring of three dances a year, aid- ing clubs in the after-game dances, estab- lishing the hall guard and parking lot system, and enacting the two charity drives. IRONING OUT last minute details of the United Appeal Drive are Renee Fleeter, Linda Margolis, and Sandy Herrick. A CULPRIT appears before Student Court Judges Steve Klein, Sue Fischer, Judy Mesnick, Jeffrey Appel, Barbara Victor, Deanna Coe, and Linda Palmer. Q9
