STUDENT COUNCIL SOCIAL COMMITTEE. Front: Birnholtz, Levin, Freed. Back: Moss, Markey, Likover. Absent: Mrs. Bucken- myer, Greenberger, Rapoport, Rittenberg. Pmflzbgoaizbn m Government Bmdf Frzculzy and Pulvzlf Gary Barnett, vice-president of Student Council, finds collecting representatives cards a wearing routine. Student Council, consisting of an elected represen- tative from each homeroom, performs the numerous functions defined for it by the administration. For more efficient handling of these functions, commit- tees have been formed. In the event that no appro- priate committee exists, the student legislative body has the power to form a new one. SOCIAL COMMITTEE. Constantly on their toes to remain one step ahead of the student body, members of the Social Committee, overflowing with originality, plan all Student Council social activities. PUBLICITY COMMITTEE. Success of Council ventures depend greatly on the Publicity Committee, which makes the students aware of forthcoming activities with its attractive, eye-catching posters. ALL-SCHOOL PARTY COMMITTEE. Everyone enjoys the annual All-School party, but before it becomes a reality, a tactful and efficient committee makes certain that two clubs do not play the same game and that the entertainment does not include a tribe of hungry cannibalsl BUDGET COMMfITTEE. Student Council finances are delegated to the mathematicians of the Budget Committee, who often face the assignment of allocat- ing an extra 350. Weighing all sides on an unbiased scale, they arrive at fair appropriations. PUBLISHING COMMITTEE. Formerly three se- parate committees, the Publishing Committee authors cope with situations that call for amendments to the Constitution, Charter, or Handbook. The former two set the laws and parliamentary procedure for the Student Council, and the Handbook guides a newcomer to Heights through the physical plant as well as the extra-curricular activities.
