The people of the community through their voice, the School Board, have placed the government of Heights High School in the hands of the fac- ulty, led by Principal Donald Roe. ln order to help the school function more smoothly, student and class councils are organized, which with the guidance of the faculty help plan extra-curricular activities and act as the voice of the student body. The faculty and students, working together effectively with the community, make a strong, healthy school-a place for school citizens of today to prepare to be citizens of the community of tomorrow. -Y ,

HEIGHTS HIGH SCHOOL... Heights High School, located at the corner of Cedar and Lee Roads, serves 1915 students daily, with 79 faculty members and 26 other employees. The school is equipped to offer each of these students over 130 courses of study. Besides the conventional classrooms, facilities of industrial arts' shops, science laboratories, home economics rooms, art rooms, a radio studio, a little theater, and a library permit students to pursue both ac- ademic and vocational interests. Using the equip- ment in these rooms gives students experience in using their hands, as well as their minds. ln this build- ing students gain understanding and skill in the use of the basic tools of learning as the foundation of the desire for further education. .
