PRACTICAL AND FINE ARTS, ALONG WITH MATHEMATICS Clayton Bachtel Harold Barbee Dorothy Bulkley John Fa,-macc, Practical arts courses administer to the needs of students who prefer manual to academic activities. These courses teach muscular coordination and an understanding of the basic machines needed for industry. Fine arts courses provide the satisfaction of self- expression in form and sound pleasing to the senses. Providing activities which may later lead to profes- sional use, they challenge students' interest and stimulate pride in fine accomplishments. Mathematics teaches pupils orderly arrangement of facts needed to solve a problem, along with the basic understanding essential to advanced work in science, industry, philosophy, and mathematics.
