Since 1967, Cleveland Tech has been offering Accounting, and Cleveland County has been benefitting from this needed program. An average of 90 people a year have been taking advantage of this curriculum. As a result, students are getting better paying jobs and employers are getting better qualified employees. Students in Accounting are taught to better understand our economy by studying and analyzing the roles of production and marketing. They learn the organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling of management in business operations. Actual practice in recording, analyzing and summarizing accounting procedures, performing daily audits of a business ledger, and balancing the account at the end of the month, enables the students to learn bookkeeping procedures. Best of all, two year graduates earning an Associate in Applied Science degree have a better chance at employment in Accounting and related occupations.
