Petty, President of Cleveland County Technical Institute. His evident dedication to technical and vocational education, his continuing interest in the growth and development of all citizens of Cleveland County, and his concern for students have been inspiration and uplift for all of us. Xi 'Xxx i ur G'First Famil The smiling faces above belong to Mr. James Petty, our President, and his family. Jill, age 5, sitting by her Mother, is a dimunitive blue-eyed blonde, who talks a mile a minute. Jamie, age 20 months, a petite brunette with big brown eyes, is snuggled by her Dad. These two charm- ing young ladies are quite an inspiration to their Dad and help to make the pleasant smile you see each time you meet him. Mrs. Petty iwilmal' also contributes much to his pleasant disposition and cheerful manner. The four of them share a lovely home on Route 3, Shelby, in the Poplar Springs Community, which is complete with a dog, cat, chickens, cows, horses, ponies, ducks, and even guinea fowls. The Pettys are active members of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where Mr. Petty is a deacon and teaches a Sunday School class each Sunda'y. We are proud to present our first family to you. 9
