To 1957 Seniors I believe that God has given to you one ofthe greatest gifts of all mankind, that is growth, not only in Character, but growth to always find some good trait in everyone, no matter what kind of person it happens to be. You departing seniors have a real obligation, not only to yourselves, but to your parents and to your nation as well. You live well by growing tall, thinking tall, and acting tall, Whatever profession you choose, you must do these things if you are to succeed. Why worry aboutthings you can 't control! Get busy controlling the things that depend on you. A. J. Hayes To Graduating Seniors You are about to reach one of your first plateaus of education. Education refers to the entire so- cial process by which individuals acquire the ways, beliefs, and standards of society. Be thankful if your life is somewhat of a grind. It keeps your good points from getting dulL If you have an idea, hustle around and find another. Please don't let it die i.n solitarycon- finement. - lsincerely hope that your education will serve as an avenue of opportunity for you during your life. J. H. Pilsbury -A-...... ....... Signed-- Gwen Page, Marilyn Nagel CLASS HISTORY During the year of 1945, much to the dismay of the first grade teachers, 15 little green-eyed monsters of the class of '57 invaded Clermont Elementary, They consisted of Ruby Harris, Dan Sheldon, Charley Seaver, Maxine Swear- ingen, Gwen Page, Carolyn Oswalt, David Black, Doris Keene Bowman, Mari- lyn Nagel, Bill Rorabaugh, Pat Smith, Daye Turville, Mary Wallis, Jackie Patterson, and Eddie Johnson. In our second year we initiated Speedy Wolfe, Helen Harper, and Phyllis Weideman into our group of little terrorists. Breezing into the Class of '5'7's third year, Jack Judy, George Bishop, Earl Purvis, and Ned Henderson were added to the roll calL In the 4th grade Jimmy Wise joined our band. Carolyn Arey and Joan Eng- lish were added during the 5th grade. These were quiet years, the teachers were under OUR control by now. In our last year of grammar school John Toole, an important addition be- cause he really knew how to do things, joined our swelling band. Ah - at last! Junior High and juvenile delinquency, so named after our group. There were no additions during the 'Ith grade, but during the Sth grade Sue Allen and Mike Schoenholz, two yankees gone Southerners, appeared to join our class. Gordon Lewia and our class came together with a clash one day in our Freshman year, We liked each other and have been together ever since. In the Sophomore year two new members, Jean Creech and Douglas Kelley were added to our growing band. By this time we were quietening down, the influence of Mrs. Schlott's teachings. To add to the obstreperous combination, Don Vaughn and Dianne McLean joined our ranks in the Junior year to help with our version of the Junior and Senior Banquet-Prom. Finally with the aid of Kenny Ballard and Birdie Benzer our murderous crew was complete. At the end of this year the poor defenseless Seniors will go out into a harsh world to make their own way. This completes our Complicated class history. Maxine and Mickey have settled down to quiet living. They are nitely visitors of Dianne and Gordon, Getting her start in the C. H. S, lunchroom, we see Birdie Benzer taking up food tickets in Morrison's Cafeteria.
